DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with our February Observable Readings\, Saint Louis Poetry Center is thrilled to welcome poet Derrick Austin for the February Sunday Workshop! This will be a generative workshop. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE WORKSHOP\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGENERATIVE WORKSHOP \n\n\n\nDetails forthcoming. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGUIDELINES & REGISTRATION\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note: this workshop is limited to 15 participants. Registration is required\, and is first-come\, first-served. \n\n\n\n\nRegistration is due by Wednesday\, February 10\n\n\n\nThis is a generative workshop in which participants will draft & revise their own poems\n\n\n\nNo poem submissions will be accepted for this event\n\n\n\nPoets will not review manuscripts or provide feedback ahead of time\n\n\n\nThose registering are expected to attend the workshop\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo register\, email:sunday.workshop@stlouispoetrycenter.org \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: February 10\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE POET\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDERRICK AUSTIN is a poet and art writer. He is the author of three poetry collections: This Elegance (Boa Editions 2026); Tenderness (Boa Editions\, 2021)\, winner of the 2020 Isabella Gardner Poetry Award; and Trouble the Water (Boa Editions\, 2016)\, selected by Mary Szybist for the A. Poulin Jr\, Poetry Prize. He has had poems and essays commissioned by The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art\, The New Museum\, Craft Contemporary\, The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Arts\, The Brick (formerly LAXART)\, The Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles\, and the Studio Museum in Harlem.
