ABOUT THE POETS

JILL MCELDOWNEY is the author of the full-length collections ALYDAR (YesYes Books) and Otherlight (YesYes Books), winner of a North American Book Award. She is a founder and editor of Madhouse Press. She is a recipient of a grant from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico. Her previously published work can be found in publications such as The Academy of American Poets, Prairie Schooner, Tupelo Quarterly, Frontier, Muzzle, and other notable publications.

ARIANA YEATTS-LONSKE was raised in the suburbs of D.C. where she climbed cherry blossom trees to read in their branches. She now lives in St Louis and works as a chronic illness coach, supporting people affected by POTS, mast cell disease, and Long Covid. Her writing has won an Academy of American Poets Prize, and she was recently short-listed by Only Poems for their Poet of the Year Award. Her poems appear or are forthcoming in Best New Poets, Frontier Poetrydecember, and elsewhere. When she is not writing, Ariana enjoys reading graphic novels, making hyperspecific playlists for friends, and handing out her own pamphlets to the evangelists who knock on her door.
