Sunday Workshop and COVID-19
In the interest of public health, Sunday Workshops continue to be offered as distance-learning workshops until further notice. They will take place online using Zoom online video conferencing. If you are not submitting a poem but would like to attend, please email us at [email protected] to register.
- Submissions due one week prior to workshop
- Submit only one poem, one page in length
- Provide name, mailing address, phone number and email address
- Those submitting poems are expected to attend the workshop
- You do not need to submit a poem to attend

Mary Jo Bang
Mary Jo Bang is the author of eight books of poems—including A Doll For Throwing, Louise in Love, The Last Two Seconds, The Bride of E, and Elegy, which received the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her translation of Dante’s Inferno, illustrated by Henrik Drescher, was published by Graywolf Press in 2012. Her translation of Purgatorio was just released from Graywolf on July 13, 2021. She has received a Hodder Fellowship from Princeton University, a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, and a Berlin Prize Fellowship. She was the poetry co-editor at Boston Review magazine from 1995–2005. She’s a Professor of English at Washington University in St. Louis where she teaches creative writing.
